Role Purpose As a Diploma Engineer Manufacturing Operations, you will be an integral part of the shop floor team supporting safe, compliant, and high-quality manufacturing of medical devices. This role provides hands-on exposure across production, quality, engineering, and continuous improvement, ensuring all activities meet GE Healthcare quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role is designed to develop future manufacturing and operations leaders by building strong fundamentals in medical device manufacturing. Key Responsibilities 1. Production & Shop Floor Operations Support day-to-day manufacturing activities on the production lines for medical devices. Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment, tools, fixtures, and assembly workstations. Follow Standard Work Instructions (SOPs, WI, BOE, BOI) and ensure right-first-time execution. Assist production leaders to meet daily output, yield, schedule adherence, and safety targets. Participate in shift handovers, daily management (DM) meetings, and shop floor reviews. 2. Quality & Compliance Support Ensure adherence to GE Healthcare Quality Management System (QMS). Follow GMP, ISO 13485, FDA, and internal quality requirements. Perform in-process checks, visual inspections, and basic measurements as per control plans. Support non-conformance identification, containment, and documentation. Maintain Line Clearance, 5S, and compliance readiness at all times. 3. Engineering & Process Support Assist manufacturing and industrial engineers in: Process validation and revalidation activities Equipment installation, qualification, and change management SOP updates and documentation improvements Support engineering trials, pilots, and first-article builds. Participate in continuous improvement and cost productivity projects. 4. Continuous Improvement & Lean Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, Waste elimination). Identify and report safety, quality, and productivity improvement opportunities. Support root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA, and problem-solving activities using basic tools. 5. Safety, EHS & Discipline Strictly follow EHS guidelines, safety procedures, PPE norms, and safe work practices. Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents immediately. Maintain high standards of shop floor discipline, attendance, and professionalism.
