Agniveers cannot marry during their entire 4-year tenure; violation will result in dismissal from service. Agniveers are enrolled under the Navy Act 1957 for a period of 4 years. Indian Navy is not obliged to retain Agniveers beyond the engagement period. Up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers may be offered permanent enrolment in the Indian Navy as Sailors (Regular Cadre) / Artificers based on performance and organisational requirements. Selection for further enrolment is entirely at the discretion of the Indian Navy; Agniveers have no right to be selected. Agniveers will not be permitted to seek release at their own request prior to completion of the engagement period. Agniveers are not governed by Naval Pension Regulations/Rules and are not entitled to gratuity for the engagement period. Agniveers will not be eligible for Ex-Servicemen status. Candidates declaring incorrect domicile/gender and other details shall not be permitted to appear in the recruitment and their candidature will be cancelled.
