Location :- Pune (Baner) Work mode :- 5 Days work from office. Role Purpose We are looking for a pragmatic, detail-oriented eCommerce Web Developer. While not a heavy backend Full-Stack role, this position requires a highly capable developer to own the day-to-day maintenance, theme/plugin edits, custom API development, and performance optimization across our eCommerce platforms. You will bridge the gap between user experience and platform functionality, ensuring our sites are reliable, lightning-fast, and visually flawless. Scope & Responsibilities Front-End & UX Maintenance (Core Web Vitals): Own BAU (Business As Usual) updates and defect fixes. Take a proactive role in monitoring and improving Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP); optimize asset delivery, caching, and DOM structures to ensure a seamless, high-performance customer journey across all devices. API Development & Integrations: Go beyond just maintaining connections; actively design, build, and secure custom RESTful API endpoints. Troubleshoot and resolve complex data flow issues with third-party feeds and external enterprise system integrations (e.g., ERP/CRM). Theme & Plugin Management: Edit, update, and maintain custom themes and extensions across our CMS frameworks (e.g., WordPress). Ensure strict compatibility with core platform updates and regularly refactor code to reduce technical debt. Version Control & Release Management: Actively manage code using Bitbucket. Strictly follow Git-based workflows including branching strategies, creating and reviewing Pull Requests (PRs), and utilizing dev/stage/prod environments via CI/CD pipelines to ensure zero downtime during deployments. L3 Technical Support: Act as the technical escalation point for complex customer-facing issues. Triage, estimate, and deliver fixes to agreed SLAs, collaborating closely with the Support Analyst team. About You (Skills & Experience) Experience: 3+ years of commercial experience in web development, specifically focused on eCommerce platforms, CMS frameworks, and web performance. Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in Front-End languages (HTML5, CSS3/SASS, modern JavaScript/ES6+) and strong working knowledge of backend scripting (PHP or Node.js) for custom functionality. API Expertise: Proven ability to not only consume but also author and document custom REST APIs. Confident handling complex data feeds (JSON/XML) and diagnosing integration failures. Best Practices: Deep familiarity with Git version control (specifically Bitbucket), ticketing systems (Jira/HaloITSM), and an obsessive approach to web performance optimization (Google Lighthouse, CWV metrics). Communication: Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical constraints, participate in code reviews, and propose mitigations to a UK-based Development Manager. Bonus / Desirable Skills (Stand-out Candidates) App Development: Experience in mobile app development or creating Progressive Web Apps (PWAs). Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) or native development (Swift/Kotlin) is a massive plus as we look toward future roadmap capabilities. Headless Commerce: Exposure to decoupled or headless architectures. KPIs / Measures of Success Performance: Consistent improvement and maintenance of green Core Web Vitals scores across key landing and product pages. Delivery & Code Quality: Successful PR merge rates with minimal rework; low defect escape rate and zero deployment-related rollbacks. Reliability: SLA adherence for BAU fixes, L3 incident resolutions, and API uptime. |
